Don't they check the photos?

My friend is enjoying 15 miliseconds of fame right now. In a news story covering the fact that Life has put all its historical photos on Google (a great bit of news in itself), they somehow used a photo that he photoshopped about the hoax. Granted, it's a great photoshop, but they really should have checked first.
