Doc Martens Last Forever.

So I finally treated myself to a nice pair of expensive shoes. Keep in mind, I normally wear $20 Vans Shoes that last me 3 years.

I've always wanted a pair of Doc Martens, I bought a used pair in HS but it ended up fitting so badly that I ditched them (hello, they were someone else's...but they were also only $20...)

I now own a pair of 1460 Greasy Black Doc Martens. they make my feet look big and I've debated sending them back.

I've shown them to 2 of my roommates with great response, so i'm prolly keeping them. Also, it's going to make me wear dresses more..I bought them to wear with dresses =)
So one of the roomies asked "Why Doc Martens?" in a curious way. I think it's definitely a certain look, and it's something that I've found I don't want a fake one..does that make sense? I dno. At least I know I won't have to replace them (hopefully) soon.

And then I ran into this:Ads that were banned because they used dead rock stars

Kinda brilliant, no?

and THEN the homage to these shoes:
Designers redesign the 1460s

The more i look this up the more excited about these i get. ^_^

Relationship Status: Married

No, I didn't get married, no, I'm not engaged, and NO I'm not planning to anytime soon.

So all of these people are finding me on Facebook from High School and college. I'm talking people I haven't seen in 8 years in some cases.

I'm thinking to myself, I finally moved to a big city, and am having the time of my life having roommates, going out and getting crazy, working my ass off and yadda yadda yadda.

Why the influx of people that are married? Why are they all on facebook and suddenly want to be my friend?

It's kinda like this volcano of people that are successful in relationships. I've been moving away from that volcano, and BOOM it erupts and they all get in touch with me.

I think it's an optical illusion..I think that I haven't hung out with these people..for some reason I gravitated towards cyclical single people. I'm one of these. You know the type...when they're single they're SINGLE. When they're in a relationship they're MIA for a bit and then return. If they settle down with someone for more than a few months than the person they're with is either one of the coolest people on the planet or some dipshit that you keep warning them about. There are no in betweens.
So these people that I have had NO contact with in YEARS suddenly are married. And not just married..oh no..that'd be too easy! They have spawn. SPAWN. I'm talking some people that are younger than me...have kids.

And why is it that my most hardcore of goth friends had kids first. Not the "Whoops accidentally got pregnant when practicing S&M" type. No, I'm talking "Got married to a military guy, stopped wearing black altogether and now have a cute baby" kind.

Don't get me wrong, I love kids. I love my niece so much I just keep talking about her and have pictures on my desk. That doesn't mean I'm aiming to be a mom by the time I hit 27. If it happens it happens but if it don't i'm not devastated.

Does anyone else feel this way? Does anyone else think that it was all the hardcore "alternative" kids that settled faster? The hip hop kids too come to think of it.

The only ones that I'm noticing that are still out there singlefying are the Theatre Kids (whoop whoop) and the Computer Dorks (whoop whoop!).

Goth kids, all gone. Babies. =( I'll bleed for you. (//.-)

And why are my sober posts weirder than my drunk posts...

Pride Day #2

Oh man my feet hurt, walking around in my boots is not as comfortable after about a mile.

I got to don my goth outfit again + the red & black fairy wings I bought yesterday. fishnets, how I missed thee.

So today was the parade day of the pride festivities, which means a ton more people at the civic center too. More alleys and booths and what not too.

Because i gathered most of the schwag yesterday, today i only obtained a Virgin Airlines "SFOXOXOXO" shirt, which I thought was adorable.

All of these cute tshirts are going to come in handy since i just bought this tshirt cutting book.

Two highlights of the day:

LEATHER ALLEY
Ah, the infamous Leather Alley. The biggest part of the alley is the tarped-off area.
Last year, I didn't go into the mysterious tarped-off area, though I'm not exactly sure why. I did see someone just masturbating in the middle of the street in the open so maybe I thought it wasn't that important to go inside of the tent and see more.

This year, Tobi & I definitely checked it out. I'm glad they didn't allow cameras or else I would have taken way too many pictures of everything. I was quite impressed with how professional and classroom-like the atmosphere was, not just a gawkfest.

Ended up dancing right above Leather Alley to some really good(well I liked it) industrial music.

API STAGE
Asian-Pacific-Islander stage. I really think this is because they don't know where to lump Filipinos so they say "Asian/Pacific Islander"

Anyway, some of my friends were performing in the drag show, and I must say it was one of the most entertaining things I have ever had to stand in the cold to witness. I was laughing, cheering, and riled up!

Margaret Cho was there for a bit, and she is FINE now. She musta lost a lot of weight. She is fierce, and apparently gay men love her.

So compared to yesterday, today was very uneventful. It was still really fun and I ended up spending like 5 hours of my life there, so it was fun!
